10 Terrific Ways to Repurpose Your Blog Content
Copywriting / 06 Oct 2021
Being visible and memorable to your ideal client is a must. Prospects have short memories. But, as we all know, creating content is time and resource-intensive, and your budget is finite. One easy solution might be to outsource your content and copywriting.
Another solution is to repurpose your content in a million different ways. One blog can turn into several different pieces of content – just not in a written format.
What is Content Repurposing?
Content repurposing means taking a blog post and adapting it for a new audience or presenting it differently. It’s a game-changer in content marketing strategy because you’re able to reimagine the same content, reach new audiences,2 and strengthen your message.
How to Repurpose Your Content
1. Guest Blogging
If you’ve invested time and resources in writing an in-depth piece, promote your existing content by creating introductory pieces that signpost traffic to your original piece. It’s a smart way to reach new people interested in your topic whom you otherwise might not have reached. It’s also an opportunity to gain backlinks to support your SEO.
2. Social Media Posts
Chop your blogs into bite-size chunks and share them on social media. In the post or comments link back to your blog to drive traffic to your site. You can quickly chop up a blog post into 5 or 6 LinkedIn and Facebook posts, 10 – 20 Tweets, and numerous Instagram captions.
3. Infographic
Take a blog post and turn it into a visual diagram. You don’t need to be a designer to create one. There are loads of free online design templates and publishing sites like Canva, and the results are spectacular.
4. Email Series
Blogs are an excellent foundation for email marketing content. Packed with value, you can split a blog into parts and establish your authority on a subject with minimal time and cost. Alerting subscribers to new blog content as it’s released helps keep your email list engaged.
5. Lead Magnet
A lead magnet is an irresistible piece of downloadable content, which a prospect receives in exchange for their highly coveted email address. Think state-of-the-industry reports, how-to guides, printables, and checklists. Many of these downloadables start their lives as – you guessed it – quality blog content, with added value to sweeten the deal.
6. E-Book
Blog collections have inspired many E-Books, with topics refined and developed into a high-value resource for use either as a lead magnet or published for sale.
7. Video Content
You can convert a blog into video content using only a smartphone. Introduce yourself, your business, your topic, and add a call to action, and you’ve got a basic skeleton right there.
Video content is highly versatile. Use it on your website, YouTube channel, social media posts, or create some IGTV episodes (a wise move now that Instagram prioritises video content).
8. Podcasting
In 2021 so far, people have spent over 15 billion hours listening to podcasts. 75% of them do so to learn new things. There’s an audience out there yearning to know about your area of expertise.
People often overthink what podcasting means. All you need at least, to begin with, is a decent mic (looking at you Blue Yeti), a script or blog post to read aloud, and somewhere to host it, with lots of free and paid options to consider.
9. Live Content
When you’ve invested time, skill, and expertise in researching and writing a quality blog post, you’ll be a relative expert on the subject. Lives are a genuine, authentic way to connect with your audience because there’s little production value. Live content is unfiltered, unedited, and unpolished. It gives prospects a glimpse into what it’s really like working with you.
10. Host a Webinar
You know your subject inside out, you’ve done the prep work, why not present your work to a live audience? Invite people to come along for free in exchange for their email address or run it as a paid event. Whichever format you choose, you’ll knock attendees’ collective socks off with the value you share.
